Sycuan Casino Resort has donated $5000 to the La Mesa Business Disaster Recovery Fund. The donation was in support of small businesses that were affected by looting and property damage stemming from recent riots in La Mesa. The East County Chamber of Commerce Foundation is spearheading this relief fund to help rebuild the La Mesa community.

“The La Mesa Chamber of Commerce is grateful for our partnership with the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation and value their commitment to La Mesa and our region. This has been a challenging time for our local business community and we are deeply moved by the outpouring of support that we have received. This investment from Sycuan will allow our businesses to begin their journey on the road to recovery,” Mary England, CEO and president of the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce, said.

“On behalf of Sycuan, it is our honor to present this donation to the La Mesa Business Disaster Recovery Fund. We understand the importance of supporting local small businesses and we hope this donation goes a long way in rebuilding the La Mesa community,” Joshua Muse, vice chairman, Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, said.

“We are seeing a lot of bigger businesses like Sycuan, who have been affected by COVID-19 and are still jumping in to help out in these situations,” Rick Wilson, CEO and president of the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce, said.
