Four Winds Casinos Appoints Mary Smith as COO
The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi’s Four Winds Casinos announced that Mary Smith has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO). Mrs. Smith, who most recently served as Executive Vice President of Casino Operations, assumes the role which was being fulfilled on an interim basis by Clayton Mason, who also serves as Chief Financial Officer for Four Winds Casinos. Mrs. Smith is a citizen of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi and the first female executive to serve as COO of Four Winds Casinos.
Mrs. Smith joined Four Winds Casinos in 2007 and during her tenure held successive roles of increasing responsibility including Financial Analyst, Assistant Property Shift Manager, Property Shift Manager, Director of Hotel Operations, Vice President of Hotel Operations, Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations and Development, and Executive Vice President of Casino Operations. She holds a degree from Indiana University in South Bend.
Rebecca Richards, Tribal Council Chairwoman of the Pokagon Band and CEO of the Pokagon Gaming Authority, said: “We are very pleased to promote Mary Smith to the role of Chief Operating Officer. In addition to being a Pokagon Citizen and the first female executive to take the helm as COO, Mary is a long-time member of our casino operations team, who has been with us from the beginning. Neccton is part of OpenBet’s growing regulatory tech vertical and demonstrates the provider’s ongoing commitment to building a secure and sustainable industry. With academic research at its foundation, the software is renowned for its evidence-based interventions, including personalized pop-up messaging, limit setting functionality and valuable behavioral insights.
Four Winds Casinos becomes the latest operator to join OpenBet’s ever-increasing global customer base, which grew by more than 40% during the first half of 2024. The deal also reaffirms OpenBet’s strategic efforts to support the U.S. tribal casino community. The company currently delivers its compelling modular product suite to 14 tribes, and earlier this year invested in Player Account Management (PAM) platform provider Strive Gaming to increase opportunities within newly operating tribal markets.

Four Winds’ Michigan locations will offer White Hat Studios’ branded content
White Hat Studios, the content division of major igaming platform supplier White Hat Gaming, announced it has signed a content deal with Four Winds® Casinos to supply its catalogue of first-class titles to Four Winds’ locations in the state of Michigan.
Under the terms of the agreement Four Winds will offer proven titles including Ted and Worms
