As part of PENN Entertainment’s ongoing commitment to supporting veterans and active-duty military, the company has created PENN Entertainment Military Scholarship at Penn State Berks. The scholarship will be endowed through a multi-year $50,000 commitment and further supports the local Berks County community where PENN’s corporate headquarters are located.

Penn State Berks is committed to helping student veterans and active-duty military students achieve their educational goals while providing a supportive environment. Currently, nearly 50 student veterans are enrolled at Penn State Berks. The scholarship can be awarded to veterans, active duty, reservists, or National Guard members with demonstrated financial need.

“We are thrilled to partner with Penn State Berks on the creation of this scholarship, which further strengthens our support for the military and our local community. PENN is passionate about honoring and empowering our nation’s heroes and this scholarship adds to our overall military recruitment and recognition efforts,” said Eric Schippers, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Chairman of the ESG Committee for PENN Entertainment.

“Opportunities like the PENN Entertainment Military Scholarship are important, not only to financially support our student veterans so they can focus on their academic successes, but also to let them know that they are important members of the Penn State Berks campus community,” Todd Migliaccio, interim chancellor at Penn State Berks, said.

Each scholarship will be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed provided the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.
