InnoGames GmbH announced that Felix Janzen has been appointed as the company’s new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Janzen is promoted from his current position as Marketing Director Media & Performance Channels. In his new role, he will be responsible for the company’s marketing activities and ensure that InnoGames further expands its position as Germany’s leading developer and publisher of mobile and online games. Janzen will report directly to CEO and co-founder Hendrik Klindworth.

“After joining InnoGames in 2012, Felix contributed significantly to the success of our global hit Forge of Empires. He particularly excelled in building our teams and working with them to set up sustainable marketing systems that delivered on our objectives. Felix brings a wealth of experience to the CMO role and is a trusted and respected leader and colleague. Together, we will lead our team to succeed with our new games,” commented InnoGames CEO and co-founder Hendrik Klindworth.

Janzen added: “We have a fantastic and highly motivated team that has delivered a wide range of successful marketing campaigns and initiatives across many different platforms. We have a well-defined marketing strategy and a track record of reaching and engaging players around the world. In addition to our current portfolio of highly successful games, we have exciting new games in store for all of our current and future fans and I am looking forward to promoting them.”

After eight years with the company, InnoGames’ previous CMO, Christian Pern, has been promoted to CMO of Modern Times Group’s (MTG) gaming vertical. MTG recently announced the divestment of ESL Gaming and will become a pure-play mobile gaming group once the transaction closes. In his new role at InnoGames’ parent company, Pern will focus on fostering knowledge sharing and cooperation across the group as well as the development of MTG’s marketing systems.

“I would like to thank Christian for all of his hard work and tireless commitment. He has contributed considerably to the continued success of InnoGames by building a strong, data-driven marketing organisation. I am excited for the opportunities and skills he can offer MTG on a group-wide basis. His promotion is a clear example of the benefits of being part of a wider international gaming group. It has been a pleasure working closely together and I appreciate the opportunity to continue our collaboration in the future,” said Klindworth.
