Motorola has become the new smartphone partner of the German esports organisation SK Gaming. The deal will see Motorola support SK Gaming’s Clash Royale and Brawl Stars teams, along with the organisation’s other pro players, content creators, and staff.

To kick off the partnership, SK Gaming took part in the retro-futuristic football Hellomoto Cup 2021 in Berlin, with players from both mobile and PC titles competing in 1v1 challenges on games including League of Legends: Wild Rift, Clash Royale, Brawl Stars and FIFA Mobile.

SK Gaming says it also plans to host several mobile tournaments in partnership with Motorola, and when COVID conditions allow, participate in joint events at the Saturn XPERION Arena in Cologne, Germany – SK Gaming’s hometown.

“The universe of gaming is vast and outside of it, outdated stereotypes prevail. Today’s gaming story is shaped by young, athletic and ambitious people who turn their hobby into a profession. They actively use social media and events so that they can also share their passion with fans and all gaming enthusiasts. The technological possibilities connect and inspire gamers worldwide, creating a community of new, fresh values in which everyone is welcome and accepted,” Chong-Won Lim, Head of Marketing at Motorola Germany, said.

“When SK Gaming started out, esports was entirely focused on computers. However, nowadays mobile gaming is gaining further and further importance in the professional scene, as well as in our operations where we field world class teams in both Brawl Stars and Clash Royale. We are very happy that Motorola will support us in this area in the best way possible from now on. The exchange is not limited to the technical level, there is also a focus on social values and commitment to the community. We share the common approach of Motorola’s new slogan ‘Power to Empower’, of accompanying people on their way to success through technology,” SK Gaming said in a statement.
