It’s Official: Ghost of Tsushima is the most beautiful open-world game ever made
With almost 1 million images shared with the hashtag #photomode on Instagram, and other popular tags like #ps4share used prolifically on Instagram and Twitter, gamers are using social media to show their appreciation for the artistic design developers painstakingly create.
In a new study, Repair Outlet used specific hashtags like #photomode and #photography to analyse millions of pictures related to the world’s most popular open-world games.
The study revealed that Ghost of Tsushima players have dedicated 12.9% of all Instagram posts to their camera skills.
This was followed by Horizon Zero Dawn at 11.97% and No Man’s Sky at 9.65%.
A quarter of the games in the top 20 are also Playstation exclusives, suggesting this is the ultimate platform for gamer photographers.

Comment from Tom Peet, manager of Repair Outlet:
“Development teams of hundreds of people spend thousands of hours to make games that are constantly bettering themselves in terms of action, story and visuals so it’s really important to celebrate the value these developers bring to gaming.
It’s interesting that Ghost of Tsushima came first considering it’s a Playstation exclusive game and therefore only available to one audience but this highlights the quality of the graphics and how well players have responded to the game since its launch.
With the advent of the PS5 and the Xbox Series X, there will no doubt be even more advancements in graphics and play experiences that players will be eager to share on social media.”
